Interview with Mats Sjögren

What’s your view on Herber and the business today?

I started as CEO of Herber on June 1, and one of the first things I noticed was the amount of knowledge and experience we have in the company. There is also a strong commitment to Herber and a great team spirit among the employees.

We have a very good foundation to build on. For me, it is about keeping what Herber already does really well, while at the same time developing the business and finding new opportunities for the future.

It is very exciting to be part of that and to help move Herber forward.

What do you see as Herber’s greatest strengths as a company?

Herber’s greatest strength is our knowledge and experience in tube bending. There are not many companies, either in Sweden or internationally, that can match the level of knowledge we have within Herber.

We are also a flexible organisation where decisions can be made quickly. This means we can react fast, adapt to our customers’ needs and find solutions even when the challenges are complex.

And of course, the people are a very important part of this. There is a strong pride in Herber and a real commitment to what we do. You can feel it throughout the company.

What should Herber continue to be really good at moving forward? How will the new ownership by M Refine Group contribute to Herber’s development?

We should continue to focus on what we do best: tube bending and technical development.

With M Refine Group as our owner, we also get access to a much wider range of knowledge and experience. The group includes many different companies with different skills, and they are good at finding ways for the companies to work together and support each other.

This gives Herber more resources and better opportunities to develop. We bring the industry knowledge, customer understanding and technical know-how in tube bending, while M Refine Group can bring experience, resources and new ideas.

Together, this gives us a very good platform for the future.

If we look a few years ahead, what is your ambition for Herber Engineering and what position do you want the company to have in the market?

My ambition for Herber is simple. We want to build on the knowledge and experience that has been developed over many years and make Herber the natural choice for anyone looking for a new tube bending machine.

We will continue to stand for quality, flexibility and solutions based on the customer’s needs. But I also want us to be more than just a machine supplier. We want to be a partner with deep knowledge of tube bending, someone our customers can turn to when making an investment, looking for advice or trying to solve a challenge.

When our customers think about tube bending, they should think about Herber.
